چه قبول کنیم و چه نکنیم ما در آستانه یک بلوغ رسانهای و فرهنگی قرار گرفتهایم. این اتفاق مهم که حتی به تعبیر بعضیها به یک تحول اجتماعی و فرهنگی در ایران خواهد انجامید، معلول اینترنت و گسترش فضای مجازی است. فضای مجازی در کنار همه آفتهای محتمل خود، رشد آگاهی عمومی و سیر حرکت افکار عمومی به سمت مطالبات واقعی و جدی و شکل گرفتن یک کلونی مردمی در جهت نظارت و کنترل اصحاب قدرت را باعث شده است. این تحول هر چند به شکلی آرام و کند در حال وقوع است، اما اولا بازگشت ناپذیر است و ثانیا برخی اتفاقات ناگزیر پیش رو، سرعت این تحولات را به شکل باور نکردنی پرشتاب خواهد کرد.
از نشانههای این تحول در فضای رسانهای ما آن است که «حرف دروغ» دیگر به آسانی سالهای قبل امکان حیات جدی و طولانی مدت نخواهد داشت و دیر یا زود رسوا خواهد شد. نمونه اش اظهارات همان نماینده ای که سیلی به سرباز زده بود و دروغ بافیهایش از شرح ماجرا، چند روز بیشتر دوام نیاورد. ما تقریبا از این مرحله گذشتهایم و در رسانههای جمعی مان به سمت مرزهای «حرف راست» در حرکتیم. اما برای رشد و تعالی حقیقی جامعه، رسیدن به «حرف راست» هم کافی نیست و بلکه باید از آن هم عبور کنیم تا به «درک درست» برسیم.
