اما اوج هنر نمایی رحیمی در سمت فرمانداری بود.جایی که فضای فرماندار دولت بودن نه فرماندار مردم بودن حاکم بود.
رحیمی با جدیت و کوشش فراوان و گذاشتن جلسات حضوری مردم با فرماندار به کلی نگرش مردم به فرماندار و فرمانداری را تغییر داد.
فرمانداری که قبل از تمام کارکنان خود در دفترش حاضر بود.سرکشی های مداوم و بی تشریفات از اماکن و اصناف و طرح های نیمه تمام و در حال اجراء باعث شده بود که خیال نماینده وقت گچساران در مجلس شورای اسلامی از مدیریت توانمند رحیمی در شهر راحت باشد.
اما سرانجام سرنوشت گچساران و باشت در انتخابات مجلس یازدهم با رد غیرقانونی اعتبار غلامرضا تاجگردون،رحیمی بر حسب احساس تکلیف به صحنه انتخابات ورود کرده است.
جایی که بدون شک زمانش رسیده است که مردم گچساران و‌باشت اینبار با انتخاب او وکیلی قوی و گنجینهٔ سیاسی با پیشینه ای را برای خود برگزینند.
